Movie Trailer Reflection

Hey there readers! (especially Mr.Meiklejohn)

Lately in Drama class, we have been making audio trailers. My group had Sayo, Oliver and Shea. I had a lot of fun with planning the audio, sound effects and making the script. Our group chose the genre to be “Action”.

Our trailer is called “Atomic Domination”. It has the characters of Me as Darren, Oliver as Johnson, Sayo as Samantha and Shea as The Bad Guy. Here it is:

This was our script and plan. We didn’t really write much. It was a little like an outline. So we built up while making the trailer itself.

I think our success in this audio trailer was that we had a really good was the trailer music. It was the amazing spiderman trailer music. It made it sound really epic and an important film. We planned the audio to duck when we had the voice overs. This was good because it would be easier to hear the voice over. I also thought the sound effects were good too. We included gun fire, explosions, cars, and more. We had downloaded more but we weren’t able to use all of them. A small problem with some of the effects were that the volume of the effect was low so wee need it duck the trailer music. This made it sound unprofessional.

I think the points we had to improve was about the voice overs because, we had more trailer music than voice overs. The trailer would have long gaps of trailer music and then have a voice over. This was another thing that made the trailer sound unprofessional. This made the trailer boring. Finally at the end didn’t have anything on it but the trailer music. This also made it boring.

Over all this project was fun and exiting. I was able to learn the essential things that is needed in a good trailer. Next time I do this I would do much more planning.
